The Solar Eclipse April 8th 2024

Today after work i decided to take my Canon EOS1N over to the Gate City Housing Projects and see if I could offer up some portraits under this magical light. Everyone that I encountered was genuine and very thankful of my time to stop and chat with them. Sometimes you just have to push yourself outside your comfort zone to restore your faith in humanity.

Today was my first film walk and I had a blast. I met some beautiful humans saw some old friends and made some fun photos. I can’t thank everyone enough for taking the time to let make their photo, feel free to reach out to me and I can send you the high res image if you’d like. Much Love!

Dojo Party 2023

The 11th annual Dojo Party. Smiles for miles! I love my friends, if you missed it you missed out. Had an amazing ride down to the Warrior River Friday, spent some well earned time with some people I love. Enjoy!

Georgia Grundle Run 2023

Georgia Grundle Run number seven, wow. So very proud of my friends that put on this incredible event. It’s three days of camping, honky Tonkin motorcycle games and all-around good times. This year I showed up a little late to the party Friday night but still in time to see some real haberdashery and hoi polloi. Nails , Justin & my self made the four hour trek up hwy 411 to Ellijay Georgia ( in the dark) where the event is held. We were welcomed with warm hugs and cold beers from some of our best friends all around the country. I was sad to miss the band Elzig but was thrilled to see Cody Bolden Saturday night, followed by some over the top wrestling. If you haven’t made it out to this event yet i highly recommend it. It’s how chopper party’s used to be. These photos were made with my Nikon Lite Touch, Nikon F5 & my Olympus TG6. If you you feel the need to use these photos please @jerimiahsmith and tag me. I appreciate you!

Minolta XE-7

I wanted to do a little blog post about this camera I came across recently. This thing has been a blast to use, super simple Auto Mode for someone that’s just getting started in film. Im pretty impressed with the photos that came out of it. Id give the body as far as aesthetics goes a 7/10 it just looks loved is all. the lens is a 50mm 1.7 and id give it an 8/10. As far as everything working as it should its a 10/10. I included some sample photos I made with it some for yourself!

“ This is a Minolta XE-7, a 35mm SLR camera produced by Minolta Camera Co. between the years 1974 and 1977.  The XE-7 was sold exclusively in the United States as it was called the XE and XE-1 in Japan and Europe respectively.  The XE-7 was the product of a joint agreement between Minolta and Ernst Leitz GmbH, to share patents, know-how and product development, on a variety of projects.  The XE-7 is built on the same platform and shares many of the same parts with the Leica R3 including a custom Copal CLS vertically traveling focal plane shutter.  The XE-7 was an expensive camera that fit in one step below Minolta’s professional level X1/XK/XM and featured aperture priority automatic exposure and a few modern features missing from Minolta’s top of the line SLR.  The XE-7 is still a favorite of collectors and users alike for it’s excellent build quality, Leica history, and ease of use.”- Mike Eckman His Website for a full review

Paradise Road Show Nashville

Sam rode from Austin to BHM with his lovely lady trailing behind in the whip. We grabbed some Thai food Thursday night, chilled at the house and woke up bright and early Friday morning. Nothing glorious about our trip up 65 other than we pushed these dyna’s about 95mph the whole way up there. This was the second annual Paradise Road Show in Nashville at The Dive Motel. Stef and I treated ourselves to a room this time and it did not disappoint! It was nice to have a place to crash right at the party and our room kinda turned into the get ready/chill out & party room so that was cool. The show is amazing, just nothing but great vibes hanging with friends from all over the country poolside while drinking and looking at amazing bikes. Adri, Chase & the crew that put on this show deserve a giant pat on the back because it has become by far one of my favorite events of the year. - Miah

The Worlds Longest Yard Sale 2023

Every year Stefanie sets sail up to Chattanooga TN and bases her 4 day adventure up and down highway 127 for The Worlds Longest Yard Sale. It starts at the southern most tip of Michigan & Runs all the way down to Gadsden AL. I usually tag along and look for old film cameras, good conversations and people watching. Heres the sale through my eyes in 2023.

A Joshua Tree Weekend For Bob & Alaina

What can I say? What a great weekend with some of my oldest and most rowdiest friends on earth, got to watch Bobby & Alaina get married in Beautiful Joshua Tree Ca. Can’t thank Doug enough for putting me up and giving me an insane rocket to ride out there, you’re the best man! These photos are just for fun, no rhyme or reason just my friends looking cool and staying rad. Enjoy.

Palm Film Lab & Palm Panchromatic Film

I have had the pleasure of meeting some pretty great people through photography but Peter & Javier are really up there. Javier’s lady Amy introduced us back in October of 2020, she told me her boyfriend and his brother were opening a film lab down in Miami and they were in search of some cameras and darkroom equipment. They had the plan of having a storefront selling cameras, books and other film related things up front, a full film processing lab and a community darkroom to go along with it. They flew up here, rented a van, came to our house and spent countless hours looking through cameras I had for sale and taking all the darkroom equipment I could give them. Here we are in September of 2021 and Palm Film Lab has been in full swing for a while now. They have an absolute beautiful operation down there, they take film processing, scanning and customer service to the next level. So when they decided to come out with their own film, to say I was excited was an understatement. They started with a Panchromatic 100 and 400 in both 35mm and 120mm. Here’s what they have to say about them.

Palm 100

A private label, 100 ISO black & white panchromatic 35mm film based in Miami, FL

  • Yields high contrast and medium grain with our recommended developers

  • Non-DX Coded (100 ISO recommended for point & shoots as default ISO

Palm 400

A private label, 400 ISO black & white panchromatic 35mm film based in Miami, FL

  • Yields high contrast and medium grain with our recommended developers

  • Non-DX Coded (100 ISO recommended for point & shoots as default ISO)

Im excited to say i’ve put a few rolls of the 100 iso & 400 iso 35mm through a few different cameras I have around the house. I processed all these rolls by hand in diafine, 80 degrees for 5 mins in solution A, 5 mins in solution B, a water stop and then a fix for 7 mins. These were all scanned using my Epson V600. Im really thrilled about the results and I probably won’t be picking up any other Black And White film for a very long time. Thanks again Peter & Javier.

The 4th Of July 2021

On the 4th of July I decided to spend my day in a hot 100 degree blacktop parking lot outside of a fireworks trailer. My goal was to see what type of Americans here in small town Alabama were celebrating their heritage. This is a collection of images I made of proud Americans in Hueytoiwn Alabama.

My Pal Warren Stoddard ii And His Book

My friend Warren is an amazing author and wrote a novella titled “No Birds In Yesterday”. Its a perfect read for someone like myself who can’t sit still for more than an hour. I was fortunate enough for him to trust me with filming some clips for a promo video he did and also shot some photos along with it. Anyways I highly recommend his book and you can get your copy here

Also check out the rest of his website, hire him to write for you or correct your grammar. He’s probably wishing he could correct mine while he’s reading this. But too bad…

The Worlds Longest Yard Sale

“ The 127 Yard Sale is commonly referred to as “The World's Longest Yard Sale”. That’s because it really is the longest yard sale in the world. To be exact, it’s 690 miles long and the route travels through 6 states; Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. The majority of the route follows Highway 127 from Addison, MI in the north to Chattanooga, TN in the south. From Lookout Mountain, GA to Gadsden, AL the route switches to Lookout Mountain Parkway. Both are scenic drives allowing you to appreciate the beautiful countryside of these states all while enjoying the fun and excitement of The World’s Longest Yard Sale.”- Insert taken from the website.
