“Finding Faith” is a photographic journey through central Alabama’s smallest towns. Over the course of two years Jerimiah has photographed and interviewed countless men and women living above & below the poverty line. Jerimiah has observed that despite their circumstances, his subjects have an unmoving faith, believing their fate to be “In the hands of God”. Having grown up in a small rural town in Northern California he find’s himself at ease amongst his subjects. Not having found his own faith yet, He delve’s deeply into this theme, seeking to understand his subjects at their core. To further explore the story behind the portrait, Jerimiah ask’s each person he photograph’s the same question : “What does faith mean to you?”. This question is answered in the form of numerous handwritten letters. Displayed side by side, the letters and the photographs tell a story that aims to open the eyes and the minds of even the Faithless.
